Actually, it's pending my author copies being delivered. I had planned on releasing this book back in 2024. Life got in the way and quite honestly I couldn't find the path to this book. My mind said to get it done, but my heart just couldn't get there. I tried, and put some minor effort in to it, but it never went anywhere.

I was on a trip a few months ago with a dear friend and we got to talking about my books. Being an independent author, and trying to not only write, but market, sell, set up events, give aways, donations, and meet and greets, it all became a chore instead of fun. We discussed the next book and the idea I had. The title was thrown around and we mixed up several ideas. As we crossed the state line into another state, we started talking about some fun times we had over the last several years, and just like that, the title was evident, clear, and filled with joy.

We stopped, checked in to the hotel and made our way back over to the local steakhouse for some dinner after a long ride. It was in that moment I wondered if the book would sell. It was also the night that I'd lay awake realizing that this was the first book I finished since my dad passed away. There was some tears in knowing he wouldn't see the book, but also some peace knowing he and mom were together.

The next morning I felt peace, strength and hope in what would come with this book. It took me some time to finish it and to get the images just right in my head. (Sorry to my illustrator who had to revise, revise, and revise because of my wishy washy changes on some of the illustrations. Geesh, I wore myself out and likely, her too. Thank you, Kim for all your hard work and for being so patient with me.

Here we are, several months later and a finished book, with beautiful illustrations and set in a snowy setting during Christmas. I'm very excited and can't wait to get this out just in time for the Christmas holiday for the littles, ages 4-9.

Until next time, Kristi.
